Review: Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo? (by Ramon Bautista)

An officemate asked me if I believed that the world would end on the 21st od December last year. Of course my response to that was a whopping “ANO? END OF THE WORLD NA BA? KAKABILI KO PALANG NG REGALO! SAYANG PERA KO!”. @_@

An end of the world conversation has progressed into my recent break up and then she recommended this book. I know Ramon Bautista, I follow him on twitter and I find him funny, witty and extremely entertaining. Tipong Professional Heckler type. Funny at puro kalokohan pero may laman, may angst, may dating, may utak.

I’ve been hearing about him on Boys Night Out. Most of my officemates are listeners of that radio show. I’m not! I’m forever loyal to The Morning Rush. Hahahahaha…

My officemate told me that I should read this because of the subtitle – at iba pang technique kung paano makaka-move on sa wasak na puso. Moving on. Wasak na puso. Ang bigat!

The title made me wonder. What will I expect from the book? Will I see a step by step guide? Some biblical passages? Tons of quotable quotes?!! O nag-uumapaw na kalokohan?!!

What I actually read are tons of insights from Mr. Ramon Bautista himself. Its actually a collection of questions raised to him on his website and his witty answers to the questions. Most of them are funny. Some, walang kwentang sagot sa mga walang kwentang tanong. Pero maraming may laman. May substance. Actually, I learned a lot from this book. Mas madami akong natutunan dito kesa sa pagbasa ko ng Twilight Series. What I loved most sa lahat ng mga payo nya is the one about education – wala daw syang payo kung paano magiging masipag sa pag-aaral, babala meron! Na pag hindi ka nag aral mabuti ngayon, may malaking chance na maging taong grasa ka in the future. Funny pero true. Well, not naman taong grasa maybe. That’s the worst case scenario. Baka basurero or holdaper or snatcher. Endless possibilities pero ang bottomline – gutom! Kids, listen up!

His views about breaking up, friendzone, crush, LDRs and a lot more are very much realistic. Yung mga tipo ng payong makukuha mo sa tropa mo. Yung tipong ang isasagot mo ay “g*go!” or “ul*l” pero at the back of your mind alam mong tama sya or may point sya. Pero hindi mo naman susundin kasi nga nagmamahal ka. Hahahahaha…

I recommend this book sa mga gusto ng light reading. Madaling matapos at madaling intindihin. Funny and happy lang. Walang kyeme.
