Review: Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes (2018)

Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes is a hilarious film. Yung tatawa ka ng tatawa hanggang huli. But more than that it's a gay film that shows gayness in all it's colorful glory pero may puso.

Like Die Beautiful, this Jun Robles Lana film is just so much! And here's why:

1. This movie is less drag than Die Beautiful but still as colorful. That shot in Taiwan's gay pride parade is just bursting with fun and gayness. Add  Judy Ann and Angelica's crazy antics and for sure, baklang bakla na sya.

2. OMG! While we're at it, can we just please stop and take a moment of silence for Judy Ann Santos' acting prowess? Jusko! That scene where her husband (played by Joross) confessed his gayness while she's under so much pain killers is just hilarious but oh so painful! Grabe yung aarte ka ng bangag na bangag tapos umiiyak dahil hinihiwalayan ka ng asawa mo? Seryoso, si Juday lang makakagawa nun! Iba sya!

3. Angelica is Angelica. She brought her own brand of comedy on the film. Yung wasak. Yung baliw baliw pero jusko nung acting time na with Juday, di din nagpakabog ang lola mo. If it's a lesser actress who starred with Judy Ann feeling ko lalamunin yun ng buhay. Buti nalang Angelica is sooo good as well. Lumaban eh!

4. OMG! Joross, while we all know is just awesome as a comedy actor, is just a revelation here. Iba si Kuya. Ang galing nya sa La Luna Sangre but here, he is just sooo good! And I'm so happy for him that he is now playing Judy Ann's husband! Di na sidekick. Woohoo! Because honestly this guy deserves it. Galing!

5. While I do not buy that storyline about Judy Ann and Joross' daughter being so understanding and all, I think it's a good call for the director and the writers. There are loads of issues on the movie already. We don't need more.

6. The storyline of Tolayts (sorry! I do not know his name pero yung jowa ni Manang Tiffany sa On The Wings of Love) adds the perfect hilarity pero ang weird nya pa din kasi grabe si Tolayts!!! May pa-abs!!

7. Umihi bago pumasok sa sinehan. Takte! Almost 2 hours akong nagpigil ng wiwi na super hirap because tatawa ka talaga ng tatawa eh. Imagine?! hahaha!

8. Humandang sumakit ang tyan (at pantog) sa kakatawa. Jusko! Jusko talaga!! Mga linyahan nila, di mo kakayanin.
