For the past 3 years, the Ayala Lights and Sound show has been my December stress reliever. :) I would watch it every weekday night and just enjoy the show. Kahit paulit-ulit. I never get tired.
This year was no exception. Though I am trying to go home early because of the dreadful Manila traffic, I always find myself dropping by the Ayala Triangle and wait for the show. I would watch the lights dance to Christmas carols. They are gorgeous!
Kids, teens, yuppies, parents, oldies, families, barkadas, officemates – everyone’s enjoying the wonderful show at the Ayala Triangle. Make sure you drop by. Feel the spirit of Christmas. It always always brings so much joy to me. I hope, they’d make you smile too.
I know that most say that for us Filipinos, our Christmas starts on the first day of the Ber months (September 01 that is). But for me, it really starts right after Halloween or at least right after All Souls Day. That’s the time when you’ll take off all the Halloween decors and replace it with so much light and colors. I think it was the perfect contrast or if you’re someone who thinks deeply of things, it might mean something like… light and colors after the dark times. Wow! I’m being poetic. Now, where does that came from?
Anyway, today is the official lighting of the Ayala Avenue Christmas décor. Every year, those Ayala people make sure that the Ayala Avenue is well lit and is heavily decorated. I remembered years ago when a British client of mine told me that she loves Christmas in the Philippines because of the beautiful Christmas lights that we all over the metro. And I couldn’t agree with her more. Christmas is my favorite season simply because of the beautiful Christmas decors. The colorful Christmas lights and the lanterns and the gigantic Belen all over. Loads of stars and lights and colors and everything I love. I think Christmas is the season that best represents me because I am just as colorful and as lively and star-y as Christmas.
I can’t wait for the Ayala Triangle light and sound show to start up. For the past 2 years I’ve been spending almost every night of my weekdays watching the light and sound show. Kahit paulit-ulit naman sya, hindi ako nagsasawa o napapagod manood. The joy it brings to my heart is unexplainable. Yan lang ang saya ng pagta-trabaho sa Makati eh.
Anyway, sorry for the crappy photos. Hahahaha… Ang hirap naman kasi mag-picture sa gitna ng kalsada. But promise, I liked this year’s décor better than last year’s. Yung last year parang umiiyak eh. Ang sad lang. But this time, although its just white light and no colors, ang lakas maka-happy ng décor. Yey!
Today, I officially start my Christmas Season. Now, where’s my Christmas carol CDs?!!
xoxo,
Reigne
It’s our 18th month of being together! Yey!
After everything we’ve been through, we managed to stay together and we’ve reached this far. Ours is still a work in progress, I guess we’ve endured too much that we still need to patch things up but we’re getting there.
So for this wonderful occasion, we’ve decided to celebrate it at the Ayala Triangle. With the beauty of the entire city as our view.
As usual, almost all of the more popular restos are packed so G.p and I decided to try out CBD. Actually, this is not my first in this resto and I’ve actually blogged about it here. But then, I only tried their milkshake and fries. G.p and I got Grilled Pork Chops served with rice and coleslaw, and the Spaghetti and Burger Meal served with a regular drink. I initially thought we’ll just get the pork chops since G.p eats as much as a cockroach. But I was shocked that she insisted we get the spaghetti and burger as well. Spaghetti and Burger Meal with drinks (Php 190++) Grilled Pork Chops (2 pcs) served with rice and coleslaw (Php 190++)
The pork chop is yummy. The pork is tender and it’s not too much salty. I love that it’s a bit sweet and salty at the same time. I also loved the coleslaw. I finished it right away. :-P I can say that just 1 order of this is enough for the 2 of us. I was really full after finishing this dish and we didn’t order for extra rice take note.
I was telling G.p that we’d just have the spag and burger for take out but to my surprise, G.p finished it off too! :-) She just initially tried it but I guess she must have liked what she tasted for she finish it all off. Oh well, I had a couple of bites though. Hehe.. The spaghetti is OK. Just ok and not really special. My favorite is still Pancake House’s spag. But the burger is another story! It’s really 100% beef and you can taste the difference. Though it really is a bit heavy on the stomach. But I really loved their burger. Swear! Maybe even more than my love for Brother’s Burger but still Carl’s Jr is the best for me EVER! (why did they leave Manila btw? I’m still heartbroken)
A proof that we liked what we had? There! Empty plates. Pwede nang itaob ulit! We’d definitely go back. G.p is dying to try their milkshakes so I guess we’ll visit again soon. Cheesesteaks, Burgers and Drinks

An ex-officemate invited me for lunch. We’ve been Housemates once so I was really excited to dine with him again. Since it’s lunchtime, Ayala Triangle restos are packed. The only one with available seats is the CBD so we tried it out. Must be because they offer mostly burgers, and knowing how rice-loving we Filipinos are, this would really be on the last of our list on lunch.
He ordered some burgers and fries while I settled for Milkshakes and Fries. I was really not hungry then.
Yummy Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake! Php 200-.
The Milkshake is very different from the usual Milkshakes out there. Theirs is a mix-up of cakes and Milkshake. So the result is awesome. It feels like eating a very cold and very creamy Blueberry Cheesecake. Definitely worth a try.
French Fries! Php 50++
Cheese Burger for my ex-housemate.
Anyway, as we settled on a seat, I noticed that they have these very nice interiors. It feels like some place you’d usually see on NYC. I particularly love these walls with clocks of different time zones! \m/
The interior is uber classy. Being the ultimate laitera and maarte that I am, restaurant interiors are very important to me. I don’t want to dine on some place that would cause me eye sore. hahahaha
Over all dining experience is awesome. The food is great. The service is excellent. The place is a love. Perfect Lunch with a friend!
