I have the most kuripot bunch of lunchmates. We’d usually walk all the way to Roemer’s Carinderia to buy our cheap lunch but sometimes, we splurge and just gave in to our cravings. And so one afternoon, we found ourselves sitting at Café France.

It’s my first time in Café France. And so I was awed on their menu choices. I wanna try everything!!! :)

Seafood Soup Linguine (Php 95.00)

I got myself them soup which is really a great choice! I love the consistency of the soup and the generous amount of seafood on it. It’s a tomato based soup but I love that it’s not too sour. This is hands down my favorite. It’s actually heavy enough for me. So for those of you who’s not heavy eater, I think this is just perfect for lunch.

Seafood Marinara (Php 249.00)

Then I got the seafood marinara for sharing with Rooksie. The pasta is also tomato based (Italian) and I also liked it. It’s not too sour as well nor too sweet. But this one is heavy so sharing it with Rooksie is such a great decision.

Quiche (Not sure what kind)

This little piece of heaven is what AF got. I tried it and I really liked it. Not to mention it’s healthy!

I don’t know who ordered this croissant and I wasn’t able to try it. It was served and I just took a photo of it. Teehee!

Pierre Tray Couture (Php 270.00)

This is what Roemer got and I love the presentation. It has a little of everything. Half Seafood Deluxe Clubhouse Sandwich and Seafood Marinara. The tray also comes with 3 cutie breadsticks with chicken/pumpkin (?) soup plus a piece of chocolate for dessert. And oh! It comes with a glass of juice as well. I think this is reasonably priced and will definitely try it on my next visit.

Four Seasons Juice (Php 85.00) and Orange Juice (Php 85.00)

Finished off with these refreshing juices and a mug of water. :)

My first ever visit at Café France was a hit. I’d surely come back!

I was introduced to this place by my friend Roxsan, who happens to love it because it serves unlimited rice and the food was great plus it’s super affordable. Ever since I tried it a couple of years ago, it has been one of my favorites.

It’s actually just a fast food chain that offers Filipino food. According to my friend, it used to be called “Pupung and Friends” and they don’t why it was changed to Dennis The Grill Boy. But even before, they still have those comic strips around the store which shows the adventures of Dennis (used to be Pupung). I find it fun to read the comic strips actually kahit ulit ulit naman sya.

The place is a bit cramped though. And expect loads of people lining up. They are kinda sikat! Siguro dahil unli rice. But the place is clean and the staff are efficient. I’ve been to the place loads of times already and I never had an issue whatsoever.

And now let’s talk about the main deal, the food…

Dennis Grilled Liempo (Php 98.00)

This is my usual order. I love love love their Inihaw na Liempo specially the white garlic (?) sauce. The pork is tender and juicy. And the sauce is heaven! I swear. Even the companion loved it. The java rice that goes with it is also perfect. I am not a big fan of rice so this 1 cup is enough for me. Anyway, their unlimited rice is just the regular one. I love my java rice waaaay better.

Crispy Pork and Mango Salad (Php 63.00)

This is that one dish that I always order every time I visit the place. Ever since my friend Desi had me try it on my very first visit. To say that I fell in love with the dish is an understatement. I would crave for it sometimes and would have to drag myself all the way to MOA just to get my hands (or mouth) on this. It has very crispy pork bits with generous amount of mango and tomato and onions and shrimp paste (bagoong). It’s heaven I tell you!

Betty’s Crispy Pork Sisig (Php 89.00)

This is another favorite. I love love love sisig! Kaya kong umubos ng 2 order ng sisig (yung nasa sizzling plate) all by myself. Ask Stanley Chny. Harhar! I know it doesn’t look appetizing on the above picture but believe me, it’s super yummy. Hindi ko kasi order yan, sa new friend ko yang food na yan. Pinigilan ko lang syang lantakan yung sisig para mag photo op. Kaso waley! Blurred! #fail

Anyway, Betty’s Crispy Pork Sisig is really crispy. Just don’t pair it with Crispy Pork and Mango Salad kasi mauumay ka sa crispy pork tapos sasakit batok mo after. Pwede mo sya ipa-order sa kasama mo tapos kumuha ka ng mga 2 kutsara para sakto lang! :) Or if bet mo yang sisig, make sure you get the Salad as add on lang para hindi heavy. Told you I’m a fan of this place, memorize ko na ang perfect food combo.

Annie’s Lechon Kawali (Php 99.00)

This is another favorite. Though I don’t like Mang Tomas, which happens to be the sauce that comes with it. I like with the white garlic sauce as well. I guess you can ask for extra sauce or have it replaced. Haven’t tried it yet. I think I should on my next visit.

Anyway, the lechon kawali is paired with garlic rice and an atchara on the side. I don’t like atcharas so I would usually leave them on the plate. But infairness to Dennis the Grill Boy, even their atchara is decent enough for me. I would say it’s even delicious if only I’m a fan.

I am not a fan of pancit canton. Bihon, I like. But canton, not really. This is the first time that I ever got to try it because it’s my friend’s order. Surprisingly, the canton is good. I hate those starchy pansit. That’s why I don’t like canton because the noodles are thick and starchy, but this one is not. And oh I love the sauce.

Laing (Add On Php 25.00)

The companion wants the Laing. The waitress asks me if I want it as add on and I just said yes without really thinking about it. And so we we’re served with a teeny tiny serving of Laing which made me and friends laugh our pants out. It’s seems like they only gave us 2 tablespoons of laing. Nyahahaha! But it was good. It has enough coconut and not too spicy.

Totally forgot to take a photo of the companion’s order – Crispy Boneless Chicken (Php 68.00). The companion’s all time favorite is friend chicken and sinigang. So if there’s friend chicken on the menu, he’d definitely go for it. I haven’t really tried the chicken but according to the companion it’s decent enough. But he still prefer chicken joy and my inihaw na liempo. He ate most of it anyway.

So, all in all this place is highly recommended if you want yummy Filipino food with unlimited rice on a very affordable price. This one is perfect for kuripot barkadas. Specially if you have some friends na kargador ang peg pagdating sa kainan.

Haven’t done a food blog for ages!! I got some on my phone but I always seem to forgot to keep the receipt or at least take a photo of the receipt so I could share with the food prices. But hell! :) I am such an efficient blogger so of course I always seem to throw the darn receipt when I need them.

Anyway, I wanted to try something new that fateful day and though I’ve seen Piadina countless of times already at Robinson’s Ermita and I don’t know why I haven’t tried it yet. :-S Must be because the restaurant’s interior is so not appealing? They got a hole in a wall kind of vibe. But maybe they are trying to replicate an Italian hole in a wall restaurant but whatever!

Though I kinda not like it from the outside, it feels like home once you get inside. The staff are friendly and are always ready to assist you in whatever it is that you ask. Plus the ambiance is very cozy.

As usual, I started the meal with a hot soup. I got their soup of the day which is super creamy and complete with pita bread. I so love the creamy soup and how it taste with the bread. This one is by far my favorite.

I got a grilled chicken meal. I love the chicken and how it was grilled to perfection but I so don’t like the rice. I totally forgot what its called but its too oily for my liking. The tomatoes are perfect though. I just really didn’t like the rice. I end up eating my meal with the pita bread left overs.

The companion opted for pork and spaghetti combo. I liked the pork and spaghetti but the meal is already too heavy. I stole those pita bread from the companion’s plate to eat with my chicken. Told you I hated the rice!

I think they are my first set of food photos that I took on bird’s eye view. I copied the idea from a favorite blogger. She’d always Instagram her food on bird’s eye view and they are lovely. I know mine didn’t turn out well but I am learning. I’ll get the hang of it pretty soon. :) Yay!

All in all, it was a great experience at Piadina. And I am sure I’d soon come back.

After their short stint at the bowling area and our Enteng Kabisote movie date, Je, her hubby and I decided to have a quick dinner at Ajisen Ramen. Actually, its more of a very late merienda already. We’re supposed to have this sumptuous dinner but after the movie, Erlie, Joie and her boyps as well as Burt all bid goodbye. Anyareh sa dinner?! Hahahaha!

I’m not really hungry because I had popcorn at the cinema so settled for this Spicy Tuna roll. It was actually okay except that it’s a bit too spicy for me. :( And to think I also put wasabi on my dip! Fail! But its yummy. I finished everything actually despite the fact that naluluha na ko sa anghang! Maki, sashimi and sushi are some of my favorites that I wasn’t able to eat much lately because the ex is so not liking it. To say that I miss them is an understatement.

Jerellt got California Maki since she wont eat anything raw. I supposed to get this one (since its my all time favorite) but I decided to be a little adventurous hence the spicy tuna choice. I don’t remember if I was able to try it (you know, uso sa amin yung nangunguha ng pagkain sa plato ng kasama eh) but the fact that I totally forgot all about it is an indication that this dish is something just so-so.

This is what Gwaps had. Obviously, sya lang ang medyo gutom sa amin. :) But he really eats a lot and hot soup are his kryptonite so this one is a given choice. This I am sure I wasn’t able to try. But I plan on going back there one of this days so I could try this one out. But this huge bowl of noodles is good for two so I think I have to look for a date then. Hahahaha!

It’s Friday! Oooopps! Saturday na! Hahahaha.. Anyway whatevs! Just enjoy your weekends guys. I’ll have a busy weekend so goodluck to me. Plus as much as I love the cold weather, this is causing my asthma attack. Noooooooo! But I’d still prefer this cold breeze that we are having than the dreadful heat of summer.
